Jan T. Hendryx, DO, FAAO, FAAMA, is a Clinical Professor of Family Medicine and Osteopathic Principles and Practice, Course Director of Osteopathic Principles and Practice, and former Director of Integrative Medicine at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) in Erie, Pennsylvania. He is author of the recently released book, Healer’s Touch: A Physician’s Journey into the Medical, Miracle, and Mystical Aspects of Healing.
Dr. Hendryx received his Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center/Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM) in Ft. Worth. He completed his internship at Phoenix General Hospital, Phoenix, Arizona, and residency in family medicine at Grandview Hospital and Medical Center, Dayton, Ohio. He is a Fellow and member of the American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO), and a member of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association. He is also a Fellow and graduate of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture (AAMA) training program through the UCLA School of Medicine.
Dr. Hendryx is board-certified in family medicine, osteopathic manipulative medicine, medical acupuncture, and holistic medicine and has lectured widely on these topics to physicians and public. Up until recently, he conducted an office-based practice specializing in the non-drug treatment of pain and other health problems using osteopathic manipulative medicine, acupuncture, and other integrative medicine modalities. He has also lectured and conducted workshops nationally and internationally on these subjects.
Dr. Hendryx believes in the original holistic principles of osteopathic medicine as they were formulated over 100 years ago and applies these principles daily in his hands-on approach to teaching medical students and physicians how to conservatively and effectively facilitate the healing processes of patients.
